Berlin Wall

Living in the United States I typically think of Europe as having old history; history that was created long before the US was discovered, but I guess history does go on.  And so it did at the end of World War 2 with the creation of the Berlin Wall that divided the city from 1961 to 1989.

Inspiration

Bethany gave me very simple direction before she set me free to decorate for her wedding; yellow and purple flowers with accents of green.

After a visit to the local farmers markets I narrowed down the flower options to light yellow Calla Lilly’s with springs of purple lavender and lush greens from my family’s garden.

I found that Fabric Depot was going to be my best bet for green ribbon to wrap the bouquet and tulle to create a garland at the front of the boat. Fabric Depot is an excellent source for all those extra items you might need and if you plan it right you can hit the monthly 40% off sale.

Official Boat Decorator

Due to a very unexpected surprise that came along early our friends Bethany and Jimmy asked if they could have an intimate wedding on Brian's Cascade 36 sailboat. Brian and I agreed with enthusiasm and Brian was appointed “Skipper” and I, official “Boat Decorator.” With 1 month to get the boat ready we had our work cut out for us.
